About Me

Kia ora! My name is Heather Pound. I was born and raised in the US, but have now lived more of my life outside of it than in. I am a mother of four grown children and grandmother to one delightful grandson. I have lived for extended periods in five different countries but have been in New Zealand now for over 10 years. I enjoy exploring beautiful NZ with my Kiwi husband, writing poetry and spending time with family and friends.

I think that everyone should have freedom, dignity and choice. Our work in other countries revolved around assisting others in faith based environments. Right before moving to NZ, we worked in a business in India that employed previously trafficked women and helped them to grow in the skills needed to empower their own choices, often for the first time.

I am empathetic, calm, a good listener, open and ‘bubbly.’
